A comment on this:

I've rearranged some code to avoid too much ifdef-hell.
If people (Michael?) think it's too much i suggest we rip
it out entirely.

Also, i've put a few hours into trying to fix SSR support.
SSR files do play (i.e. It does not crash) but there are
audible artifacts which seems to be related to windows
with short transforms.
