Oh, yes, I dare say insulting your betters is the best strategy.
I have no qualms saying « your betters » since I was barely involved in
this discussion.

Explaining that there are a lot more code involved in this feature than
just a web browser is not the winning argument you think it is, quite
the opposite.
People have pointed to you the use of system() because it is an focal
point of all the wrong things, an easy way to get into the documentation
and learn about the issues of what you are doing.

This is just an incredibly shortsighted statement. Somebody capable of
saying something like that cannot be trusted with the design of an API.

Good. Maye get over yourself and find a safe way of implementing it
instead of using it as an excuse to play the victim.
Also, for pity's sake, stop sucking all the air from this mailing-list.
