Hello everyone!
(no meaning attached to which mail I respond to)
While it reads less bad today than it did yesterday night, please try to keep the things written in the code of conduct in mind, assume best intentions etc., this thread didn't quite live up to it IMO.
It's possible to state even strong disagreement in more respectful ways.
If you permit, I'd also suggest that people in favour of removal take the win and don't push it - having a majority should be no excuse for making it a "tyranny of the majority".
If one wants an actual working community, minorities (of any form) sometimes need to be respected and get concessions beyond what they can get by votes (ignoring the technical question here).
And for anyone in favour of votes I hope it shows why votes are a bad idea: they don't resolve the conflict and there's at least one loser. Don't call them if you have other options. Compromise and consesus is always better.
Though I admit a way to ask the mood more like a poll sounds interesting to me, maybe even anonymous?

Best regards,
Reimar Döffinger
