First of all, these private e-mails I don't really understand. Why do
you end up sending them to me instead of the list? They have so far
have clearly been a continuation of discussion on the mailing list.

With regards to the case you are mentioning (the Dolby Vision mp4
identifiers), that was unprofessional and I apologized. I did feel
stupid after the fact for not giving into requests like adding the
ticket ID just because I felt like I was hitting a wall.

Long story short, I indeed do *not* want to do this, but I *also* do
not want to see my own work get wasted because of reasons I do not
fully understand or do not fully agree with. While I do agree that
libaribb24 has its issues (none of which I currently see as fatal), I
picked it as a library that is utilized by a major application (VLC)
already and is packaged in Debian etc.

If you had said you were blocking this patch set, I may have just
pulled the AVCodecID/description and demuxing stuff to be separate to
get at least something in out of a set of work I've done - as I
mentioned in my previous e-mail. And then tried to see if I could
salvage the rest in some other way.

Now - finally - if you are offended by me saying that I don't want to
go against someone who says he doesn't like something I have done,
then I cannot do much about that. I do truly feel so. But when
presented with the request of specifying what you would like instead,
you noted that you are not blocking this patch set.

Jan
