This variant was merged.

lto with icc works fine here, both shared and static.
With gcc 4.9 (and the flac patch), lto shared work 
fine, I was unable to find out how static lto is 
supposed to work with gcc: You need a specific linker 
setup but this is not provided if binutils 2.24 get 
bootstrapped together with gcc 4.9.
