i dont think its too ugly, iam just unsure about it. Also this would
be removing fields from 2.3 in 2.3.1 which is kinda borderline
API/ABI wise
maybe you can speak with hendrik ? If you 2 agree on some solution
iam happy to apply/push that solution.
Also i think the impact of this issue isnt completely clear to me
if this is just VLC needing a small patch to fix a bug in VLC and
that actually can and is done then thats probably best.
if OTOH this is somehow blocking something or causes breakage for
multiple packages then it might be better if we just remove these
fields for now
