I think some just don't really want to make it public, and it's a bit questionable for us to put them on some web page IMHO....
I know it isn't the same thing, but in some cases telling people to look out for files called e.g. avutil.dll on their computer can be interesting.
Sometimes I myself end up scratching my head and wonder "what do _they_ use ffmpeg for?!" (not the best example maybe, but Steam includes ffmpeg libraries...).
Other funny facts: the computer games museum in Berlin seems to use MPlayer and thus FFmpeg.
My windows installation has 5 copies of FFmpeg dlls. This of course does not include any of my own programs. Even stranger, one has a ffmpeg.exe (statically linked) and avutil dll but no avcodec or avformat. Didn't know we really had stand-alone users of avutil...
