not directly but how else should it work, either the user needs to
know about the container or she doesnt.

they might, but iam trying to argue that they should not.
the code should do the remapping if needed, otherwise how do you
want to convert from one container to the other (with or without
reencoding) while preserving the language metadata of each stream ?
