The API discussed here allows to get the capabilities of devices
but they are technically muxers and demuxers, so maybe this API
would at some point in the future also be used for gathering the
capabilities of muxers and demuxers

Its not that you shouldnt use gotos but rather that you should write
readable code and code with gotos often but not always is less readable
