At this point, the main motivation seems to be more to get this ugly
stain out of the libavfilter code base. (Yes, libmpcodecs and
especially the fact that it's in libavfilter is extremely ugly.)

I'm quite amazed that lavfi developers accept the existence of
libmpcodecs at all. These filters are not even particularly
good/useful (at least in the present), compared to what is available to
you if you use avisynth.
