Will there be any licensing
problems?

You probably misunderstood my
motivation. There are literally
dozens of derived work on the Web
(many in github) and quite a few
of them have corresponding Play
Store article.
But none of these is "official"
even in sense of Zeranoe. Their
update cycle
(if any) is not explicitly
defined, and never synchronized
with ffmpeg release timeline.
They have good reasons: most of
them bring a lot of added value
specific to platform, or have been
created to solve some concrete
problem.
I'd like to see this changed, and
bring Android build into the main
development lifecycle.
I believe that this platform
deserves and technically can be
one of the official distribution
platforms.
This should probably involve
building some platform-specific
test harness.
Sincerely,
Alex Cohn
