Perhaps the language for acceptable feature requests could be make more clear without being made too exclusive. "codecs, file formats, filters, bitstream filters and similar" is a very short list. I can think of several features requests that I've submitted that were address and closed but outside the scope of this list, such as adding an FFREPORT variable, metadata reporting, and documentation clarifications.
