I'd wait a little more before re-introducing public API, it doesn't sound
"safe" to me yet. Remember that we have around 50 more filters than Libav;
it's likely that when they will start rewriting/porting them, they will
realize more changes are needed, and it will be a pain for us with the
public API.

My opinion is that documenting it means that we kind of officially
considered it public (normal API users might go WTF), while bumping makes
no harm and might just help power users playing with the private API who
still haven't ported/removed their code and want to stay evil a little
longer (or in the hope of the public API back).
