Pulse Audio does provide a lot of useful benefits but the way it was
deployed in the Ubuntu Distro caused a lot of pain for many users over the
years.  Thankfully Ubuntu have now fixed that at the top level by getting
rid of the people responsible and employing people who actually know what
they are doing.

I have a sneaking suspicion that those same people are now being employed
by Google to manage the Android audio system which might explain why real
time audio on Android is not currently possible.

But I digress...
