Without wishing to comment on the code, which is not my area of expertise.
This works for me on *some* of my MXF sample files but not all.

It seems fine on XDCAM-HD Clips, but not on the BBC's "Preservation Master"
format. Which I know has timecode as "archive_mxf_info" from:-

extracts it.
