I think I said it earlier, I do not consider this issue blocking: delaying
the flush is a minor optimization, and the patch is perfectly acceptable as
is.

On the other hand, I would really like to know what you did not understand,
so I can explain it better in the docs: is it what exactly is needed? the
reason?
