As a HTPC user all software are now unciode converted and it gives nice possibilities with unicode stars for rating of movies and much other bling. Unfortunately the HTPC software uses FFmpeg (streaming to iphones/ipads) and having the bling in the filename, FFmpeg fails to process it due to the lack of unicode filename support. Hopefully you could implement it soon in...that would be true greatness

ffmpeg.exe can take unicode filenames just fine for me (from cmd.exe, Win 7).
I find it more likely a bug in your HTPC software.
