> Hi Reimar, sorry disagree. I'm a happy user of ffmpeg 0.7.5 on FreeBSD 8. I just compiled and installed without the FreeBSD port system.
As said, in FreeBSD 8 they finally moved to a slightly less ancient
binutils (and also it only affects 64 bit systems), but it is a good
chance that that's the source of the strange ports behaviour.
