It's been done.  Hopefully it'll get merged into the FFmpeg trunk soon.

I haven't concerned myself too much with the decoder yet.  However, now
that you mention it, it would be nice.  I'll probably try and do it this
week.  RGBA and YUV440 decoding would be nice, especially since the encoder
supports them already.

The encoder could deal with some optimizing and multithreading, but I
probably won't get to that for awhile.
