I haven't been able to think of a use case where a user would want the
fill to fade to black leaving the alpha untouched, but I'll add alpha
fade as an option anyway.
BTW. I was worried, would you prefer the patch as two changes, one to
add the functionality and one to reformat the old code, so it is easy to
see what has actually changed?
I'm assuming you had no objections to the overall method of the change
to the current luma path.
