[FFmpeg-devel] Scaling Question and Idea

Im currently encoding a group of streams and they vary between 720x576 704x576 and 640x576

My output size is fixed at 512x288 and i was wondering if i picked a better size would it help the scaler, speed wise that is.

Or could the -s command be changed so you can do something like "-s .75x.5 and let the scaler work out the best size?
