I agree that the current thread is not a proper vote, and thus did not cast
a ballot.

But if someone steps in and organizes a proper vote, can you guarantee that
its result will be obeyed?

Unless we have a public declaration of each of the roots that they would
abide to any decision made by a proper vote?, I do not see the point of
bothering to organize anything.
