using a submodule would tie it to the git switch.
also if i understand git correctly (i havnt really done development in
submodules yet) is that each change to the submodule would need 2 commits
and generate 2 svnlog mails
or is it possible to avoid this? Make ffmpeg just link to HEAD of the submodule
like svn supports
