i think he means 'remove the monopoly of 7, by allowing all to have
push/commit access again'.

instead of 7 people having commit access over the whole project, this
would mean that everyone with access would be able to commit things.
someone mentioned earlier that the fork-commit-team are equals, this
would just make the entire project as equals. i thought this was one
of the reasons of the fork, to remove a project leader?

probably none of the old team understands that they can ok patches and
fork-team will commit them. but also this is just what i'm guessing the
policy is because i havent seen any policy in writing.

this vote looks like a compromise, no leader and everyone is equal.
michael is trying to get the ffmpeg team back together, on equal ground.

the technical consequences would be the same as what we had in svn.
everyone has commit access. patches need to be reviewed and
compiled and make tested and ok'd by maintainers before being applied.
if something goes wrong we ask it be reverted.

what? strawman much? no one asked you to give up anything in this
proposal. its not even a vote about the roots...
