Note: I don't have access to any spec, so this is pure guessing but my interpretation was true on all the mplayerhq samples and those attached to the bug report. Without this patch, besides the warnings, we can see the artefacts on the first line when decoding e.g. microbunching_monochrome.mov from mplayerhq samples.
