Hi, I'm the maintainer for the openjpeg encoder. Personally, I'm fine
with the documentation, and I don't really have any personal preferences
regarding exactly what's said in it. I'm not sure if the j2k encoder will
make any progress in the near (or distant) future, but at least the
libopenjpeg encoder is being actively maintained, plus there's the benefit
that improvements make to the libopenjpeg library can be absorbed by FFmpeg
with practically no additional efforts.
I'm not sure if there's anything else in specific you'd like me to comment
on...
