That's a great idea, but why does it need to be upstream? It's useless
except for testing ported filters.

Reminds me of the requests for DLL loading support for not-yet-RE'ed
codecs. It's a Bad Idea[tm]. Simply tell people to port the filter. If
you implement a wrapper, the itch is gone and it'll never happen.
