I have 2.6.31, but both mentioned patches are part of the alsa-driver version I
have installed.

$ aplay -D hdmi:CARD=NVidia,DEV=3,AES=0x06 -c 8 -r 192000 -f s16_le out.spdif

The same command works fine without AES (and c2) for eac3 samples.
