Normally I'd agree.  We are, however, talking about Ulrich Drepper
here.  He will never accept the change, and even if he did, it would
take a decade before it was widely deployed, leaving ffmpeg as broken
as it was.  In other words, a fix relying on a change to ld.so fixes
nothing at all in practice.
