Uh, which current players use neither libvpx nor FFmpeg?
Changing the decoders _now_ (e.g. to support both) means
changing the actual files should be possible rather soon
(basically at the latest after the first vulnerability discovered
in those decoders).
Hardware solutions as said are a somewhat more difficult problem,
but without a solution soonish I expect this to become rather
painful.
