suggestions for a better API are welcome, i wanted to fix this since a
while alraedy ...
the API should ideally
* be efficient so we can use it internally too
* allow iterative ME
* allow us to use x264s ME (if it implemented the API)
* allow x264 to use our ME (if x264 wanted)
