I don't even know what in the code the Apple assembler chokes on.
Attempts to find out have thus far been fruitless.  The last person we
tried to ask got angry.

If it's something that could be solved with a simple ifdef or so, I
wouldn't be entirely opposed to the idea, but if it's something more
fundamental I'll be more hesitant.
