Honestly, I find it confusing too. The only hardware acceleration I
can think of is of the kind of that which happens when you put a
computer on a fast car or just let it drop out of a window.

What is accelerated in this case is not the hardware, but the encoding
process, since part of the computing is done using integrated circuits
implemented in hardware, so maybe something of the kind
"USE_HW_PINCO_BLASTER_ENCODING/DECODING" or something like that would
be more sound.
