I'm not into this stuff at all... so I'm might be talking non-sense.
If the motion estimator tells the encoder that some macro/superblocks
are equal between frames, would you still have to redo the complete
procces because of the shuffeling and dct?
(What I wondered was if the more 'efficient' encoder might reuse
calculations from previous frames, to gain speed...)
