Well, I may be in a minority, but I prefer AVI for the fact that it is a
mess due to evolution and some "clueless" people doing stupid out-of-spec things
whereas MPEG is a mess by design without any special reason and mov and mxf
are a mess by design by trying to do everything with one format and lots
of inconsistent implementations by so-called "professionals".
