I would prefer "rm" over "mr" besides
please provide START/STOP_TIMER benchmarks of each changed function
the gcc output from the errors
and if possible some information of what, if anything changes in the
asm output

yes, the functions are rather important to performance and i dont want
changes to, not even bugfixes withot understandig what effect these
changes have to performance.
