 Yeap, exactly. ?smail D?nmez had entered a bug report [1] but it was
closed as wontfix.

 I had hit this in Pardus 2008 (gcc 4.3.1 glibc 2.8). Adding
_BSD_SOURCE fixed compilation for me.

 I can test if any other idea pops up.
