[FFmpeg-devel] flv to avi (for chinese MP4 players)

I am trying, unsuccessfully so far, to convert downloaded flv files to avi files so that 
they will play on one of those Chinese MP4 players.
I can successfully convert them using the Windows app on the included mini-cd that came 
with the player, but I want to use Linux.

I would also like to be able to batch convert all files in a directory.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
