btw, may i recommand colorgcc with the related patches at
http://svn.mplayerhq.hu/michael/trunk/patches/
that will nicely colorize warnings and errors so that you can see an
important warning easily in pages of
"comparison between signed and unsigned" warnings

Its not that you shouldnt use gotos but rather that you should write
readable code and code with gotos often but not always is less readable
