[Ffmpeg-devel] [PATCH/RFC] reorganize default settings in configure

Cross-compilation of ffmpeg can be a bit troublesome due to the way
the configure script assumes that the target OS is the same as the
build OS.

Someone posted a patch to allow setting the target OS, but the patch
was rejected for various reasons.

Here's a patch that attempts to move around the setting of defaults
such that the command line parameters are parsed first, yet still take
precedence over the OS-dependent defaults.

Due to the size of the patch, I'd like for some comments from others,
Diego in particular, before committing.
