I believe AAC is better than Vorbis at low bitrates.  Vorbis does
support more than two channels, but even oggenc/oggdec have trouble
handling it (libvorbis seems to be fine though).  A possible reason
one might choose AAC over Vorbis is better support in hardware
decoders.  Very few (any?) hardware decoders support Vorbis.
