Judging from your mail user agent you are running under Solaris and its
wonderful non-POSIX broken userland.  IIRC Sun puts some non-broken
tools in an obscure path.  Try those or replace the broken ones.

Also, this question belongs on ffmpeg-users, not ffmpeg-devel.
