Well, I was trying to fix FFmpeg when DV support was disabled:

The reason for doing so, was that I was trying to get FFmpeg
compiled with only the specific codec I need.

And, in fact, imho it is cleaner to have it split. It was quite
easy even, as there seemed to be no functions or structs being
shared between the muxer and demuxer.
