streaming works fine, just try
ffplay http://www1.mplayerhq.hu/MPlayer/samples/Divx4-bugs/Fight.Club.Trailer.avi

i dunno if there is any problem in relation to .mp4 ...
one thing which should be implemented is http_seek()
