NOTE: there is NO documentation on building the tests. I took a look 
through the makefile but there aren't any comments in there. Nothing in 
the configure script help or source code helps.  I appreciate free 
software and that this is under active development (unlike, say, some of 
my own CPAN projects which have languished though published -- and I 
don't ever tell people reporting bugs to get lost, even when its user 
error).
