I thought I would back this up with some specific examples. Here are
some WMV3/9 samples that Felix encoded early in the codec's lifetime:

(Hey, I think that actually IS Felix!) They play fine in Windows but I
could not make them work with the VC-1 ref-dec. I wonder if it could be
a slightly incompatible bitstream due to the encoding vintage?
