In MSYS too. bash 2.05 has the same problem. Is it not possible to use
an alternate method of checking the flags instead of "(:
${SAVE_CFLAGS?}) 2>/dev/null"?
It's something very simple, that won't affect anything else in the
script (besides the fact that it will work on what you like to call
"obscure" platforms). The patch I proposed does this, but I didn't find
a nice place to declare FLAGS_SAVED="no", so I just put it close to
where it's used. I'm sure you can come up with lots of different methods
to simply check if the flags have been saved.
