Yep, that's quite obvious from the code :-)

I do not intend to keep it going - I'm not going to write/port the/any
encoder (esp. not for licensing under the LGPL). But I do not like old
files becoming unplayable in the future, having a decoder available for
every format, esp. with a non-restrictive license seems desirable to me.

I sure would give credit to whoever made up the format, it's just that I only
saw copyright notices in the MPlayer code and I don't find it
appropriate to take over.
