Is it possible that there is a bug with the mem-align hack?

Has anyone ever tried calling a Windows-based DLL from within ffmpeg?

I've had no problems in the past calling ffmpeg from within my Windows program 
using the flags: --enable-shared --enable-memalign-hack --enable-mingw32 

But I wonder whether there are inherent problems calling Microsoft-based stuff 
from within ffmpeg?
