  This is differs depending on the individual developer. I can't think about
a best solution to address this at the moment. But of course you are right
to track changes to the code you maintain!

  Also note that tracking of the commit log is necessary anyway, because
changes can come in from merges too.

  Maybe we could set up some automatic solution that forwards mail to
maintainers personally that requested to be notified on changes in files
they maintain. I can't imagine any other help we could give without dumping
more work onto individuals.
